The meeting was opened by Mr. Davor Percan from DG Environment stressing the importance of the project as an instrument for preparing for EU accession that is very needed and welcomed by the all project beneficiaries and stakeholders in the region. This was followed with the presentation and discussion over the project approach and situation in all project technical components. The project is expected to take another step forward when compared with ECRAN, taking into consideration the current level of preparedness of the enlargement countries. The project will apply multi-country approach to achieve measureable outputs on national level and in transboundary context. Furthermore, the attention was given to co-operation with TAIEX instrument that will be supporting organization of project events.
The project inception period is two months that will be concluded with the development of the Inception Report guiding the project implementation during the coming 3 years. The technical work of the project will be managed by the team of 4 key experts led by the Team Leader, Mr. Mihail Dimovski supported by non-key experts and backstopping team provided by the implementing consortium members.
