TAIEX EPPA Regional Workshop on EU nature conservation legislation and biodiversity assessment of infrastructure projects

The online workshop was platform for information exchange on the implementation of the EU policy in the area of nature and biodiversity, namely the EU Taxonomy regulation and ‘do no significant harm’ principle presented by the European Commission – DG Environment and Secretariat-General, respectively. Participants had the opportunity to exchange experience with the EU MS experts from Austria, Poland and Slovenia, particularly with regards to application of the Habitats Directive including Appropriate Assessment of the projects and plans illustrated with number of cases. Representatives of the European Investment Bank shared case studies of fulfilling the requirements of the EU environmental legislation with transport projects. Beneficiaries shared experience on the application of Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment.
