The online TAIEX EPPA Regional Workshop on integration of Green Infrastructure and Ecological Corridors into the spatial planning and sector policies was held on May 17th – 18th 2021.

TAIEX EPPA Regional Workshop on integration of Green Infrastructure and Ecological Corridors into the spatial planning and sector policies

The workshop has given opportunity for participants to exchange opinions with the EU Member States experts from Austria, Slovenia and the Netherlands concerning:

  • implementation of the EU legislation,
  • implementation of blue and green infrastructure in to the spatial planning and sectoral policies,
  • improving functionality of green corridors through integrated planning,
  • supporting transboundary ecological connectivity

The Participants have also discussed objectives and results of the major relevant project:

  • Interreg Dunabe SaveGreen Project, aiming to safeguard and improve functionality of ecological corridors in the Dunabe basin through integrated planning,
  • Interreg Project D2C DaRe to Connect, supporting Dunabe Region’s ecological connectivity by linking Natura 2000 areas along the Green Belt,
  • DINALPCONNECT Project, within transboundary ecological connectivity of Alps and Dinaric Mountains

The workshop has also provided a follow-up to the EPPA Study on green infrastructure deployment and ecological connectivity and facilitating regional cooperation.
